Growing up, Kerry Von Erich was my favorite wrestler. For nostalgia purposes, he’s still on my Mount Rushmore, some 30+ years after his death.

This week on the podcast, I chatted with ‘Pondwater’ Dave, also a Von Erich superfan. He was in the crowd the day Kerry beat Ric Flair for the NWA Heavyweight title (May 6, 1984). The My 1-2-3 Cents/Stride Pro Wrestling Action Figure Drive is back! We are entering our fifth year of collecting wrestling figures and wrestling-related toys for the Toys for Tots program. Here in southern Illinois, more than 15,000 toys were donated last year. We were able to contribute more than 250 wrestling figures to that total.

I’d love to do that again this year! Please consider donating cash to shop for figures or figures. The deadline for dropping off is at the Stride Pro Wrestling show Hostile Holiday on Saturday, Dec. 10. You can also DM me on social media to get details about shipping something.
