There was no shortage of news to talk about in the world of wrestling in 2022. From Vince McMahon’s retirement to CM Punk’s drama with AEW to Ric Flair’s Last Match, it was a unique year, to say the least. Instead of the traditional Centy Awards, Chad Smart and I discuss some of the big headlines of 2022 and look ahead to 2023. Be sure to share your thoughts too.

Wow. Time certainly flies by. I can’t believe episode 200 is already here. After some failed attempts at getting guests like Road Warrior Animal, Kevin Sullivan, Matt Riddle and Brutus “The F’ing Barber” Beefcake, I decided to do a clip show.
This week I’m sharing a few clips from the dozens of interviews I’ve done over the past four years. So today, you’ll hear from Lisa Marie Varon (Victoria), Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, Cash Borden, Heath Hatton, “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan and Conrad Thompson.
I’m also working on naming the monkey. Head to the My 1-2-3 Cents Facebook page and vote on the two finalists. And if you’re looking to add to your wrestling tee shirt addiction, try the new My 1-2-3 Cents shirt on Pro Wrestling Tees.
Be sure to check out Stride Pro Wrestling on Friday, Sept. 21. Learn more about that show and other events here.
Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat has been a part of pro wrestling for more than 40 years. My first memories date back to his run with Crockett Promotions. I had read up about the Dragon in the Apter magazines and in 1985 made his WWF debut. I never thought back then I’d have a chance to interview the Superstar.
But that’s who the guest is for episode 150 of My 1-2-3 Cents the Podcast. The Dragon is going to be a part of fundraiser event Rasslin’ in the ‘Ville. The show is Friday, Oct. 6 at Community Consolidated School 204 in Pinckneyville, Illinois. Steamboat will do a meet & greet beginning at 5 p.m. Then the action for Stride Pro Wrestling begins at 6:30 p.m. You can get ticket information here.
I’d also like to do a quick shout out to my friends over at Podzilla 1985. They interviewed Jeff Hardy at CCW (Cape Championship Wrestling) FanFest. It’ll drop Wednesday on the show Pro Wrestling Unscripted. Find them on Facebook.
Don’t forget, I’m also now a part of COLLARxELBOW. You can shop online and use the promo code MY123CENTS to save on t-shirts when you shop. The company has added some new shirts in recent weeks. It’s a great way to support indy wrestling and My 1-2-3 Cents. Thanks as always for your support.
For the first time in several years the WWE is showing the Intercontinental Championship some love at Wrestlemania. In this episode Kevin and Chad analyze the upcoming ladder match in which Wade Barrett defends against several opponents. They look back at big IC title matches from previous Wrestlemanias including “Macho Man” Randy Savage vs. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, Ultimate Warrior vs. Hulk Hogan and Razor Ramon vs. Shawn Michaels.
