The My 1-2-3 Cents/Stride Pro Wrestling Action Figure Drive is back! We are entering our fifth year of collecting wrestling figures and wrestling-related toys for the Toys for Tots program. Here in southern Illinois, more than 15,000 toys were donated last year. We were able to contribute more than 250 wrestling figures to that total.

I’d love to do that again this year! Please consider donating cash to shop for figures or figures. The deadline for dropping off is at the Stride Pro Wrestling show Hostile Holiday on Saturday, Dec. 10. You can also DM me on social media to get details about shipping something.

Stride Pro Wrestling continues to amaze me. This past weekend we had two great shows, leading to a big event on Saturday, September 10. For the first time, Stride will have its version of the Royal Rumble, with 30 participants; past and present Stride stars will be involved. March 5, 2016, is the date of the first Stride Pro Wrestling show. The main event that night featured a fatal four-way to crown the first-ever champion. Ax Allwardt beat three others to do just that, Heath Hatton, Tony Flood, and Frank Wyatt.

Now, the company is preparing for the fifth anniversary of that event, and we like to call it Strideiversary. It’s set for Saturday, March 13, at the Stride Building at 1130 N. Divison Street in Carterville.

On Monday, Feb. 15, 2021, the world lost an amazing wrestler and an even better person in the Mississippi Madman. I first met Madman back in 2010 as a fan. A short time later, I learned more about the man behind the character, Don Jackson.

He touched the lives of many. So this week’s show is dedicated to Madman’s memory. We’ll hear from several people who worked with Madman over the years.

Cue the Undertaker. What an amazing 30-year career he’s had in WWE. I can still remember watching him in World Class and WCW as The Punisher and ‘Mean’ Mark Callous respectively.

Then in 1990 at the Survivor Series, a new character was born. I think it would be hard to argue that the Undertaker is the greatest gimmick/character of all-time in wrestling. His loyalty to Vince McMahon and the fans is nothing short of remarkable.

I’ve known Dalton Anthony for a few years now, first hearing him on the Podzilla 1985 Pro Wrestling Unscripted podcast. Then he and some of his co-hosts came to a Stride Pro Wrestling show as fans. But it wasn’t long before that fandom turned into Dalton stepping through the ropes.

This month’s Wrestling Under the Influence is a fun one for me. I get the chance to share a beer with my dad and talk all about Wrestling at the Chase. My dad (and I) grew up in St. Louis, so Wrestling at the Chase was a staple for him as a teenager and I watched early on in my fandom before the show went off the air.

Many AAPW stars will be returning that night for Curly’s benefit. It’s at Black Diamond Harley Davidson in Marion and every cent raised that night goes to Curly, who is facing some serious health issues right now.

The world of professional wrestling has a variety of memorable characters. One of the most memorable I’ve had the chance to work with is Curly. The man behind the gimmick, which is dedicated to the 3 Stooges is Dan Summers. Unfortunately, Dan is having some major medical issues right now.

That’s where his brothers and sisters in wrestling are stepping in. On Saturday, Dec. 7 Stride Pro Wrestling presents AAPW Ressurection. All American Pro Wrestling was at one time a huge force in southern Illinois and Curly was one of the biggest attractions on the roster.

Now, many stars from AAPW are coming together to wrestle for Stride. The show is happening at the Black Diamond Harley Davidson Warehouse and 100% of the money raised that night will be donated to Curly and his family. Get your tickets here.

In keeping with the Halloween theme for the month of October, I decided to have a chat with current Stride Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Champion Red Daniels. Nearly two years ago he was involved in the company’s first (and only) Buried Alive match.

To our knowledge, WWE is the only company to do Buried Alive. There have been five such matches, dating back to 1996. If we’re incorrect in that claim, please let me know.

For nearly 40 years Vincent Kennedy McMahon has been the driving force behind the WWE. Before that, of course, it was the World Wrestling Federation. In recent years though, McMahon has been criticized for his decisions related to the product. So this week we explore ‘What If… Vince Retired?’

My co-host for this month’s installment is Stride Pro Wrestling General Manager Sam Hunter. He’s a lifelong fan of pro wrestling and we share our opinions on today’s product and what we think would happen if Vince McMahon walked away from the company today.

Never in my life did I think I’d have an opportunity to wrestle for a championship. That dream came true last week and my partner and I were successful in our effort.

Yes, Heath Hatton and I are the new Stride Pro Wrestling tag team champions. We beat Tony Flood and Jay Spade at Bash at the Ballpark. However, we defend our belts this Saturday, Sept. 7 at Revenge in Carterville. You can learn more here.

In this week’s episode of Two is Greater than One, Heath and I talk about the night we won the titles, why he decided to go in this direction and wrap things up with the new feature Three for the Road. It’s a new episode of My 1-2-3 Cents the podcast. This week the new Stride Pro Wrestling Champion Red Daniels joins me as co-host. Since he just returned to the ring after being buried alive in Dec. 2017, I thought it only made sense to share our favorite wrestling returns.

We each share our six favorites (spoiler: mine are mostly old school based). Red also discusses his thoughts on character development and what he’s learned in his three years in the business.

Wow, what a show! Strideiversary (the 3 year anniversary show for Stride Pro Wrestling) is in the books and proved to be the best show the company has put on. That’s not Tony Schiavone hype, it’s the truth. I’m happy to have been a small part of the evening. You can hear a recap of all the action on this week’s show.

I also have a clip from the Honky Tonk Man as part of this week’s episode. He of course is going to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame soon. I interviewed HTM back in 2016. You can find the whole episode here.

It’s been an interesting start to 2019 since AEW officially announced ‘Double or Nothing.’ The speculation on the future of WWE has run rampant. This week on the show Tyler ‘Heath’ Hatton and I break it all down. Hatton has an extensive history in indy wrestling and has worked for WWE too, performing at Extreme Rules in 2012 and doing some other dark matches. He’s also the owner of Stride Pro Wrestling.
