Ask My 1-2-3 Cents
This week’s episode is a #AskMy123Cents. I took to social media (late of course) and got a few questions, including who on the current WWE roster I would book against Hulk Hogan in his prime. By the title of this show, you’ve figured out it’s Braun Strowman.
I enjoy the interaction with other fans to make this show possible. Thanks to everyone who interacts on the various forms of social media. You can always reach out here or on any of the usual platforms.
Also, I’ve got a store on Pro Wrestling Tees. The monkey shirt is the only one currently available, but new designs are coming soon. Thanks to those who have already bought a shirt. Click here to shop.
My 1-2-3 Cents Episode 189: Wrestling Under the Influence 'Anti-Hero'[ 47:31 | 0.01 MB ]Play Now | Play in Popup | Download (748)
Wrestling Under the Influence
Chad Smart, the host of Positive Cynicism, was in town for the afternoon recently and I always like recording podcasts in person. So it seemed like a great time to do just that. He’s not much of a beer drinker, but I wanted to get his take on Anti-Hero by Revolution Brewing in Chicago.
If you’re new to the Wrestling Under the Influence concept, we drink a craft beer and tie it to wrestler or angle in wrestling. Here are the previous shows:
For the Anti-Hero beer we discuss a few anti-heroes in pro wrestling; including “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Roman Reigns and CM Punk. I also give a shout out to my friend in Stride Pro Wrestling, Ax Allwardt.
My 1-2-3 Cents has several tag team partners. Do your shopping for pro wrestling t-shirts on COLLARxELBOW. You can also shop for Funko Pops, Manscaped accessories or your favorite Amazon items all on this link. Harness Digital Marketing can hook you up with social media and brand building needs. Thanks for the support. (CxE also has a new summer lineup available.)
Wow. What a night of wrestling. WrestleMania 33 is in the books. Roman Reigns did what he said he was going to do and beat the Undertaker. It appears this may be it for the Deadman. Look for much more on the Undertaker’s career on the My 1-2-3 Cents blogthis week.
There are also several new champions in the WWE. Naomi, Brock Lesnar, Kevin Owens, Randy Orton and The Hardy Boyz (yes you read that right) all have gold once again.
The fallout from Mania will be great to follow on Raw and SmackDown Live this week. Be sure to rate and review the podcast as well. Thanks for listening.
Since 2006, Kevin and Chad have made the trek to WrestleMania, except WrestleManias 23, 31 and now 33. The two discuss this year’s card in depth in this week’s episode, which happens to be 123. Disclaimer: Kevin originally tried booking Sean Waltman “The 1-2-3- Kid” on the show, but came up short.
Are you excited about this year’s WrestleMania? What will be the match of the night? Should Goldberg be going in as Universal Champion? And will the Broken Hardys show up anywhere over WrestleMania week(end)?
The 2017 Royal Rumble is just days away and Kevin and Chad are running down the card. They pick the winners for the undercard and analyze the 30 man over the top rope event. Who do you think will win?
The official rules for the My 1-2-3 Cents Royal Rumble contest have been announced too. Look for more details on the Facebook page this week. Also Monday, January 23 is My 1-2-3 Cents Day (and the birth of Hulkamania). Be sure to read more about how to participate and win prizes here.
Also coming soon, Chad’s new podcast, Positive Cynicism. It’s the latest show to be a part of the Jittery Monkey Podcasting Network.
My 1-2-3 Cents Episode 108: Road Block, Linda McMahon & Crossover Appeal[ 66.14 MB ]Play Now | Play in Popup | Download (1172)
Chad and Kevin are back for an all-new episode of My 1-2-3 Cents. The two are discussing three hot topics in wrestling this week. The upcoming Road Block: End of the Line event, Linda McMahon’s role in the Trump administration and the crossover appeal of WWE Superstars like John Cena, the Rock and Batista.
During the discussion, we try to name who the next big crossover Superstar will be. Who do you think will go from the ring to Hollywood next and have the most success in doing so?
The Raw brand is back in pay per view form with the annual Hell in a Cell event. It’s set for Sunday and features an unprecedented three HIAC matches. Kevin Owens defends the WWE Universal championship against Seth Rollins, Rusev attempts to regain the U.S. championship from Roman Reigns and Sasha Banks clashes with Charlotte for the Raw Women’s title. That match is the first time the ladies have wrestled in a cell.
Chad and I break down the event as it stands so far. Who should main event? Are three cell matches necessary? Will Sheamus and Cesaro end the New Day’s 400+ tag team title reign?
SummerSlam 2016 is in the books and probably the best pay per view so far of the year. From the crowning of the new WWE Universal Champion (Finn Balor) to the phenomenal matchup between John Cena and AJ Styles to Charolette regaining the WWE Women’s Championship this event delivered.
Chad and I give some thoughts on the evening, but also look ahead to what’s next for the Superstars involved in the biggest party of the summer.
Be sure to leave a review on iTunes (a new contest is coming soon) and follow us on social media.
It’s after midnight and I have no clever title for this week’s show. I apologize. But the conversation is good this week as Chad and I discuss the Battleground event (or is it still pay per view) from WWE.
Dean Ambrose has walked out with the WWE World Heavyweight title, which means right now SmackDown Live is the only show with the “main” gold. We talk about what is next for Raw, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.
While we both liked the show, neither of us felt like it was “must see” action. As always, it’ll be interesting to see what stories develop now that the brand extension will be in full effect.

Money in the Bank 2016 is in the books and Dean Ambrose not only won the contract, but the championship on the same night. Although WWE touted this as the “greatest Money in the Bank of all time!” Kevin and Chad tend to disagree. This week the dynamic duo breaks down the event and shares their thoughts on the pay per view.
Over on the My 1-2-3 Cents YouTube channel, Kevin has a new interview up with Jeff Jarrett from Global Force Wrestling. The company will be at Rent One Park in Marion, Illinois on Friday, July 1. You can get ticket info here.

Extreme Rules 2016 is in the books and what a show it was. From the surprise return of former WWE Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins to the stellar Fatal Four Way match for the Intercontinental Title, this show delivered.

Extreme Rules is just around the corner and Chad and Kevin are talking about the lineup for this year’s event. The two also share their thoughts on other happenings in the WWE, including some of the recent releases.
Be sure to weigh in and share your thoughts on Extreme Rules. Will AJ Styles win the gold? Who should be IC champ after the fatal four-way? And can Natty make Charolette tap out?

The New Era of WWE is underway and we saw the first pay per view. Kevin and Chad discuss the highlights and the lowlights of the evening. Both picked Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn as match of the night and question the “Chicago Screw Job” and the choice of both Shane and Stephanie McMahon to run Raw.
But as the two have said before, WWE is a marathon and not a sprint. Only time will tell what’s next for the company. By the way, we wish Enzo a speedy recovery and found this tweet from Kevin Owens awesome.

This week’s show is something I’ve wanted to try before, but never had a chance to do. After the most recent CMA Stride Pro Wrestling show in Marion, Illinois, I joined some of the wrestlers for dinner at Applebee’s. I put my recorder on the table and captured some of the conversation.
You’ll hear the server checking on our table and the sounds of other customers, but I like how it turned out. “Farmer” Billy Hills, Sarah Summers, Tony & Alexa Flood and Heath Hatton weigh in on women’s wrestling, intergender matches and Roman Reigns among other things.

After taking off a year, Chad and I are heading back to WrestleMania. We’ll be in Dallas later this week for Axxess, NXT, the Hall of Fame, WrestleMania and Monday Night Raw. So we figured in this episode we share thoughts on the Hall of Fame Class of 2016 and the card as it stands for WrestleMania. We also provide a little insight into the show we’re both looking most forward to, NXT: Dallas.
Are you going to WrestleMania this year? Send us a message on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram (@my123cents) or you can reach out to me on Twitter (@kevinhunsperger) or Instagram (@kevin_hunsperger). My 1-2-3 Cents Episode 66: Shane's (and WWE's) Big Undertaking[ 46:33 | 63.93 MB ]Play Now | Play in Popup | Download (896)
The mystery of who The Undertaker will face at his 24th WrestleMania has finally been solved. The Deadman will step into the Hell in a Cell once again at the biggest show of the year. This time against Shane McMahon.
It’s a bold move and something most fans didn’t see coming. I’d read countless blogs and posts from fans speculating everyone from John Cena to Samoa Joe to even Goldberg as being Undertaker’s opponent.
Chad and I talk more about the decision to put Shane in the match and what things WWE could be doing to make WrestleMania more appealing. Other matches announced so far: Roman Reigns challenging Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and Brock Lesnar squaring off against Dean Ambrose in a Street Fight.
Don’t forget, this is also your last chance to enter the “Road to WrestleMania” contest. Answer the question in this week’s show at the My 1-2-3 Cents Facebook page. Prizes include a three-month subscription to WrestleCrate, a Sting prize pack and a $25 gift card to WWE Shop.

There’s a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Triple H returned to the 2016 Royal Rumble to capture the coveted prize for the 14th time. Roman Reigns put up a valiant effort, but in the end it wasn’t enough to overcome the Authority and the League of Nations.
Kevin and Chad chat more about the Rumble match and what’s next for Triple H as champ and who he should face at Wrestlemania. Brock Lesnar, the Wyatt Family and plenty of other Superstars get some love during this show, including the six who made their Rumble debut. Those Superstars include AJ Styles, who also made his WWE debut at the Rumble, as well as Neville, Braun Strowman, Tyler Breeze, Kevin Owens and Zami Zayn.
The guys also share details about new contest leading to Wrestlemania. There will be three different winners and prizes include a 3-month subscription to WrestleCrate, a $25 WWE Shop gift card and a Sting prize pack. Be sure to listen to the show for the first week’s question.

It’s a new year, and many people have resolved to get into shape. Nearly three weeks into 2016, I’m still visiting the gym four times a week with the help of a personal trainer.
My friend, Tyler “Heath” Hatton, is the general manager at the Gold’s Gym near my home. He recently offered to help get me into shape. For those who have followed the My 1-2-3 Cents blog know that for years I’ve been trying to find my abs.
After several starts and stops, I’m ready to rededicate myself to the mission and I believe Tyler will help me achieve my fitness goals.
One of the things we discuss is nutrition and how important it is in any fitness plan. As you’ll find out in the interview you can’t outwork a fork. In the past, I’ve failed to realize that. Now I’m eating healthier, drinking more water and cutting out sweets. You can do it too! Listen to this show to get motivated.
Former WWE champion John Cena has undergone successful shoulder surgery. But as he recovers, it appears he will not be a part of Wrestlemania for the first time in more than a decade. What kind of impact will his absence have on the WWE’s biggest event of the year?
Kevin and Chad talk about that scenario and look at what the company can do to make the lack of Cena, as well as Seth Rollins and possibly Randy Orton and Cesaro less severe. The two also talk about the 2016 Royal Rumble and who should walk out the champ as well as speculation that members of the Bullet Club are WWE/NXT bound.
Remember to check out the My 1-2-3 Cents blog. Also, subscribe to the YouTube channel, follow on Twitter and like on Facebook. Thanks for sharing this show and the others here on the Jittery Monkey Podcasting Network.
It’s that time of year again for a My 1-2-3 Cents Christmastime staple, Centy Claus to pay a visit. He’s been a part of our YouTube channel and for a second time, he’s graced us with his presence on the podcast. Centy Claus also brought presents and he’ll discuss what he’s giving to the men and women involved in wrestling (not just WWE).
Kevin also has a very brief “interview” with WWE Superstar and co-holder of the tag team titles, Xavier Woods.
Don’t forget to tune in next week for the annual Centy Awards. Like the My 1-2-3 Cents Facebook page, follow on Twitter and read the blog.
Say what you will, Survivor Series 2015 has a lot of people talking. That includes Kevin and Chad. The dynamic duo of wrestling podcasts and blogs analyze this year’s event and offer their 1-2-3 Cents about what went down.
Two WWE World Heavyweight champions were crowned in the course of just a few minutes. Roman Reigns won his first singles title only to have the fun spoiled by the Celtic Warrior Sheamus. The Undertaker marked 25 years with the WWE by teaming up with his brother Kane and defeating the Wyatt Family. Tyler Breeze looked pretty in his match with Dolph Ziggler. Charlotte shined against Paige and the legendary Goldust made his return.
November 22, 1990 the Undertaker debuted at Survivor Series. Twenty-five years to the date the Dead Man steps into the ring with his brother Kane to battle two members of the Wyatt Family. In this episode, Kevin and Chad look back on some of the Undertaker’s best moments and share memories, facts and thoughts over the last two and and half decades.
The discussion also focuses on the November tradition of Survivor Series, which dates back to Thanksgiving 1987. The two also talk about the tournament to crown a new WWE World Heavyweight champion and put together their own traditional Survivor Series match. Click here to see their card.
WWE World Heavyweight champion Seth Rollins was recently injured in a match against Demon Kane. That knee injury will keep Rollins out of the game for six to nine months.
WWE officials have declared the championship vacant and have promised a new champ will be crowned after a tournament at Survivor Series. As of the recording of Episode 50, the number of and names of the participants have not been announced.
Kevin and Chad share some of their thoughts on who should be in the tournament, as well as the rest of the card for Survivor Series.
We’ll know more after Monday Night Raw, but until then, listen to this week’s show and share it with others. Be sure to share your thoughts here as well.
Next week, Kevin and Chad will talk more about the tournament, the history of Survivor Series and favorite Undertaker moments as he marks 25 years with WWE at this year’s Survivor Series. We want to hear your favorite memories of the Dead Man too, so share those here as well.
Money in the Bank is right around the corner. Kevin talks more about the show and shares his picks as well as a recap on what’s been going on in the world of professional wrestling over the past week.
In Episode 22 Kevin provides some thoughts on the Extreme Rules pay-per-view. With new tag team champions, what’s next for the division? Will Lana and Rusev break up? And what will WWE do with Ryback? Kevin provides his 1-2-3 cents on those issues and the fate of the WWE World Heavyweight title.

The two recap the event, including the Royal Rumble match itself and the three-way WWE World Heavyweight title match. Kevin and Chad look ahead to Wrestlemania 31 and talk about more than just Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns, but also the prospect of a John Cena vs. Rusev match. What roles will The Rock, Undertaker, Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt have? Listen and see what these two life long fans have to say.
