For years, many wrestling fans have pointed to Ultimate Warrior as one of the reasons the WWF business declined in 1990 after Hulk Hogan stepped away. Even Hogan called the move one of wrestling’s biggest mistakes on the Real American documentary. But was Warrior really to blame?

This week on the My 1-2-3 Cents Podcast, Kevin and Chad take a closer look at the state of wrestling in 1990 and examine whether the criticism aimed at the Ultimate Warrior is actually fair. From changing wrestling trends and roster depth to business decisions behind the scenes, the guys break down what was really happening during one of the most talked-about periods in WWF history.

Was Warrior set up to fail? Did fans unfairly compare him to Hulk Hogan? Or is there some truth to the criticism?

This week, I turned to AI to assist me with the podcast, asking for wrestling’s greatest heel turns. But I was surprised by what AI actually knows. To further prove my point, I requested AI to generate me as a pro wrestler for the image used for this week’s episode. Good stuff.

Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart is one of the most iconic pro wrestlers in the history of the business. He was recently immortalized again in the WWE Hall of Fame with his partner Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart.

This week on the podcast, my co-host Roger Matheus and I review a beer made in Hart’s honor. It’s called Brett ‘The Hipman’ Hop. Against the Grain Brewery & Smokehouse in Louisville, Kentucky makes this beer. They sent me a bottle to try just for the show.

Meeting Chris Hero at WrestleMania 26

Ten years ago Chad and I attended our first WrestleMania.  We made a road trip to Chicago for a weekend of wrestling that included a Ring of Honor show, the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony and WrestleMania 22.

For me, it was a dream come true.  I was content with that one trip.  But I also knew if the opportunity came up again I wanted to go.  Luckily for me, it came up again and again and again.  Chad and I have have been to eight of the last ten WrestleManias.  We’re heading to Texas next month for our 11th.

In this episode of the show we talk about our favorite memories and moments.  It’s not just about the ‘Mania.  It’s the fun in getting to each destination, the other events we attend and of course the WrestleMania atomsphere.
