Welcome to the first episode of Wrestling Under the Influence this decade! I’m joined by Ryzer, from Stride Pro Wrestling. He and I enjoy the Unfiltered Wheat American Classic by Boulevard Brewing Company. We pair this beer with the ‘American Dream’ Dusty Rhodes and his son, the ‘American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes.

Stride returns on Saturday, Feb. 1 at Central Junior High School in West Frankfort. This is a fundraiser for the school’s PTA. Check out Stride’s website for more details.

We’ve reached 100 episodes!! Since it’s a milestone episode, @chadsmart has invited @my123cents host @kevinhunsperger to fill in on co-host. Together they discuss professional wrestling scene of 1999 and the similarities to the professional landscape in 2019.

Where there once was WWF, WCW and ECW, now there is WWE, AEW with Impact/ROH/MLW fighting for third major company. Will the ghosts of wrestling past come back to haunt wrestling present? Is there enough attention span among wrestling fans for all the product that’s easily consumed? Listen to Chad and Kevin then weigh in with your opinion.

I don’t know if this is the best title for the show, but I do talk a lot about both companies. While I am a WWE loyalist, I am glad there is going to be something else out there for fans to choose from. And it seems AEW is keeping WWE on its toes for now.

Roswell himself has had some changes in character; actually using two different personalities for Dexter in Stride Pro Wrestling and Cape Championship Wrestling.

It’s been an interesting start to 2019 since AEW officially announced ‘Double or Nothing.’ The speculation on the future of WWE has run rampant. This week on the show Tyler ‘Heath’ Hatton and I break it all down. Hatton has an extensive history in indy wrestling and has worked for WWE too, performing at Extreme Rules in 2012 and doing some other dark matches. He’s also the owner of Stride Pro Wrestling.

Stride returns on March 2 with Strideiversary: the 3 year anniversary of the company. Check out the website for all the details. Sam and I discuss the matches coming that night.
