It’s the post-Father’s Day episode of the My 1-2-3 Cents podcast. We’re talking about some of the best father figures in the world of pro wrestling.
Chad Smart of the Positive Cynicism Podcasting Network is my guest co-host. We discuss why some legacy Superstars were hits while others were misses. Who are your favorites?

Dean Ambrose is once again Jon Moxley. Goldust is Dustin Rhodes again. This week my co-host Garrett Turner, aka Dexter Roswel, and l talk about our favorite identity changes in pro wrestling. Roswell himself has had some changes in character; actually using two different personalities for Dexter in Stride Pro Wrestling and Cape Championship Wrestling.
Stride Pro Wrestling has a show Saturday, June 8 at the building in Carterville. It’s Battle Bowl! Learn more here.
Goldust… one of my all-time favorite ‘gimmick’ wrestlers. When he debuted in 1995 in the WWE he had the world talking. Gone were the cowboy boots, hat and jeans Dustin Rhodes had once worn to the ring. Goldust changed the game. He was ahead of his time.
Fast forward 23 years later and not only is Goldust still in the ring and kicking ass, but we’re still talking about this iconic Superstar. He is the subject of this week’s Superfan episode. Dalton Anthony from Pro Wrestling Unscripted and I chat about Goldust and his legacy in the business.

Episode 54 is a special one, as it marks the one year anniversary of My 1-2-3 Cents the Podcast. The first show dropped December 9, 2014. Thanks to all who have listened and shared the podcast. It’s a lot of fun putting the shows together. Also thanks to Greg Mehochko, co founder of Jittery Monkey and host of Nerds United, for inviting Kevin to be a part of the “family.”
The guest this week is former WWE Diva Terri Runnels. She’s been involved in the wrestling business for more than 25 years and has evolved from her early days as Ms. Alexandra York in WCW to Marlena to Terri. She shares stories from the early days, her life as a working mom and what she’s up to these days.
Speaking of which, you can catch Terri at WrestleCon during Wrestlemania 32 weekend in Dallas. She also has a couple of upcoming events in New York and New Jersey. Keep up with her on her website or social media pages.
The wrestling world suffered a major loss last week with the death of “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes. Kevin and Chad dedicate this week’s show to one of the most iconic men in the world of professional wrestling. They share their favorite moments and thoughts about the Dream’s legacy. Thanks for listening. Rest in Peace Dusty!
