In keeping with the Halloween theme for the month of October, I decided to have a chat with current Stride Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Champion Red Daniels. Nearly two years ago he was involved in the company’s first (and only) Buried Alive match.
To our knowledge, WWE is the only company to do Buried Alive. There have been five such matches, dating back to 1996. If we’re incorrect in that claim, please let me know.
Red talks about the idea behind the match, the execution of it and the aftermath. It’s a great conversation. Be sure to share it with your friends!

Wrestling royalty has been crowned in Stride Pro Wrestling. “The King” Chris Hargas now rules over the kingdom. He and I go one-on-one in this week’s My 1-2-3 Cents. He talks about the idea for being king and offers some advice to young wrestlers out there.
I also pay tribute to “Mean” Gene Okerlund on this week’s show and recap the latest event by Stride.
Also over on the My 1-2-3 Cents YouTube channel, I’ve started a new feature called Go Figure Friday. Be sure to check it out and subscribe to the channel.

Buried Alive thrives
The first ever Buried Alive match in Stride Pro Wrestling is in the books. You can read all about it (or just listen to today’s show) on the My 1-2-3 Cents blog. Both men make me proud to be a professional wrestling fan and a member of the Stride Pro Wrestling team.
But we can’t totally dwell on the past. Stride Pro Wrestling is at it again this weekend. On Saturday, Dec. 16 we head to Woodlawn Grade School to do a fundraiser event. Roger Matheus will defend the Stride Pro Wrestling Heavyweight title against Jay Spade in a Last Man Standing match. It’s also a first in Stride.
Donate & Win!
In episode 158, I announced my buddy Tom Harness and I are participating in the Ugly Christmas Suit guys fundraiser. Our goal is $7,500 for Children’s Home & Aid. You can read all about it here. But anyone who donated $25 will be entered to win the Rock and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin Christmas ornaments you see above. Make donations here (to Team Kevin of course)
Don’t forget, I’m also now a part of COLLARxELBOW. You can shop online and use the promo code MY123CENTS to save on t-shirts when you shop. The company has added some new shirts in recent weeks. It’s a great way to support indy wrestling and My 1-2-3 Cents. Thanks as always for your support.
For the first time in Stride Pro Wrestling history, the company presents a Buried Alive match. The heated rivalry between Chris Hargas and Red Daniels has brought us to this monumental evening. The show is set for Saturday, Dec. 9 at the Illinois Star Centre Mall in Marion, Illinois. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids.
The two will be the main event that night. Each man joins the My 1-2-3 Cents podcast to talk about whats at stake and what led us to this point. It will be the fight of a lifetime for each man. Also happening on that card, Jay Spade and Stride Pro Wrestling Champion Roger Matheus sign the contract for their match on Dec. 16. Ax Allwardt battles Scott Phoenix, Heath Hatton clashes with Dexter Roswell, Jose Magnifico takes on Brian Richards in a ‘mask vs. beard’ match. Tony Flood will defend the Legacy Championship against Joey O’Riley, JD Wilk battles Arron Brooks and Frank Wyatt meets Shane Laud.

Chris Hargas has worked hard on the indy scene for the past 15 years. He recently won the SICW heavyweight championship and is a mainstay in three other independent wrestling companies. Hargas wrestles for Stride Pro Wrestling, IWA Productions and USA Championship Wrestling.
We talk more about his training, his work in the ring and why he gets into the squared circle week in and week out. Check out his website and watch some of his matches around the country. Chris is a great performer in the ring and a heck of a guy outside of it.
You can catch Chris live in action Saturday, June 3 at the next Stride Pro Wrestling show in Marion, Illinois.
They don’t come much bigger, meaner or tougher than “Big” Roger Matheus. He has terrorized the Stride Pro Wrestling roster for about a year now. Matheus has a huge opportunity coming up on May 6 as he faces Heath Hatton for the Stride Pro Wrestling Championship in a TLC match. It’s happening at Pinckneyville Unit 204 school.
Matheus talks about his upcoming title match as well as his history in the business and what role Bobby Lashley plays in it. There’s a mention of the Boogeyman too. Thanks for listening and supporting the show and My 1-2-3 Cents the blog.
Professional wrestling fans in southern Illinois already know who J. Wellington Beauregard is. He’s been a part of the wrestling scene in this region for more than a decade. Now as a part of Stride Pro Wrestling, Beauregard has managed some of the biggest and best brawlers in the game. His stable “Damage Inc.” includes former champion Ax Allwardt, “Homicidal” Stephen Davis, Brandon Walker and up-and-comer Scott Phoenix.
Two of Beauregard’s men have big title opportunities on Saturday, Dec. 10 at the CMA Dojo at the Illinois Star Centre Mall in Marion, Illinois. Ax will get a rematch against new Stride Pro Wrestling Champion Heath Hatton. But the match is a fatal four-way and includes “Big” Roger Matheus and Chris Hargas. Also happening at Hostile Holiday: Seasons Beatings event, Phoenix gets a shot at the Legacy Championship held by Jerry Travelstead.
Come out for a fun night of wrestling action. It’s got a Star Wars theme and we’ll be having a good time with that too. Bell time is 6:30 p.m. See you there.
