My 1-2-3 Cents Episode 404: Potty Talk

The potty talk takes over the My 1-2-3 Cents Podcast this week. It’s all part of Storytime, when I ran into three (now) WWE Hall of Famers in the bathroom at a wrestling show and one who will likely be a Hall of Famer one day.

I would love to know what you think about this show. Please leave a review and send me a screenshot of it! Check out My 1-2-3 Cents on social media: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter (@my123cents). My 1-2-3 Cents Episode 144: Solo Darling

The 10th annual King of Trios tournament is coming up Sept. 1-3. It’s a huge event put on by Chikara Pro. The guest this week is one of the participants, Solo Darling. We chat about her beginnings in the business and what she thinks about stepping into the ring against guys. Big thanks to Mike Quackenbush for making this happen on such short notice.

I’m also excited to announce two other things for My 1-2-3 Cents. On the show, next week Chad and I debut a top 6 show call Six Cents. We’ll review our favorite wrestling events from summer time.

My second announcement, I’m proud to announce I am now an affiliate of the COLLARxELBOW brand. Please check out their merchandise and when you’re ready to buy something, use the code MY123CENTS. I appreciate the support and am grateful to become a part of this growing brand. Here’s the link to the site.

My 1-2-3 Cents Episode 130: Powerbomb TV

We all know about the WWE Network, commonly referred to on the Jittery Monkey Podcasting Network as Channel 999. Other wrestling companies are looking at that formula and offering up matches for fans to watch on demand. There’s a new venture out there called Powerbomb TV that’s bringing several indy promotions together in one central spot.

This week’s podcast is all about Powerbomb TV. The co-founder of the site, Gerard (who wrestled as Vin Gerard in Chikara Pro), goes into greater detail about how Powerbomb TV works and how fans can sign up. Right now it’s $10 a month or 100 bucks for a one-year subscription. You can sign up now for free.

There’s a big event planned on Saturday, June 11 called Break the Barrier. Gerard describes it as more of a festival than a wrestling show. Colt Cabana will be one of the many indy stars appearing on the show.

Corn Nation’s Five Heart Podcast Episode 9

Brian and Greg are back ahead of Nebraska’s trip to Madison this weekend to face the Wisconsin Badgers.

Can the Huskers invade Camp Randall and get a win? Why does the same media that puts Nebraska int he top ten bitch and moan about Nebraska being in the top ten?

Despite their flaws, this team just keeps winning. The guys talk about the upcoming opponent and what the ‘Skers can expect.

The dynamic duo (that’s probably copyrighted) branches off and has a lot of other discussion, and a corn-related pro wrestler gets mentioned from the Twitter feed.

Go Big Red!

My 1-2-3 Cents Episode 58: Long Live the Princess

98a6X3QN
Princess Kimber Lee

Chikara Pro has a new Grand Champion.  In December 2015 at the season 15 finale, Princess Kimber Lee won the championship from Hallowicked.  Kevin and the Princess discuss her victory and what lead up to that moment.  The two also talk about what the future holds for the new champ as season 16 of Chikara begins January 30.

The two also discuss the role of women in wrestling and how it’s evolving as well as the development of inter-gender matches in the business. Find out who influenced Kimber Lee during childhood and who she’d like to defend the Grand Championship against.  We do know her first opponent will be Oleg the Usurper on January 30 at the season 16 premiere 5 Senses.  That show is happening at the Wrestle Factory in Philadelphia.  Best of luck to the Princess in her first title defense.

You can follow Princess Kimber Lee on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.  And don’t forget to check out the My 1-2-3 Cents blog, YouTube channel, Twitter and Facebook pages.

Happy 2016!

My 1-2-3 Cents/Nerds United Episode 55 – Jittery Monkey Crossover Episode

The moment finally happened when Kevin Hunsperger’s My 1-2-3 Cents the Podcast met the same episode number as network founder Greg Mehochko’s Nerds United.

So the lads had themselves a crossover episode, discussing everything from wrestling to Star Wars to rassle-roos and under roos.

More importantly, it is a celebration of sorts. Nerds United  has long been the banner carrier for the network, and while it remains the oldest show still in production (give or take), I think it’s safe to say that we have a new flagship podcast.

A tip of the cap to Kevin for his year of success and best of luck to him and Greg as they continue to bring you fresh, relevant content.

Yes – that means Greg will have to step up his game.

My 1-2-3 Cents Episode 40: Let’s Get Smashed!

max_Smashmaster

In this episode Kevin talks with Chikara Pro star Max Smashmaster.  He’s one half of the reigning los Campeones de Parejas (tag team champions).  He and his partners Blaster McMassive and Flex Rumblecrunch are also the defending King of Trios champions.  They will step back into the ring Sept. 4-6 for the annual tournament.  Prepare to step back to 1987 and have some fun with this interview.

My 1-2-3 Cents Episode 37: SummerSlam – Then & Now

SummerSlam Logo

Kevin and Chad talk about the current SummerSlam line up and the potential matches for the 2015 event. The two also discuss some of their favorite memories from years past.

My 1-2-3 Cents Episode 32: Dasher on Deck

Another Chikara Pro wrestler joins Kevin on this episode of My 1-2-3 Cents.

RosterDH-C

Chikara pro star Dasher Hatfield, the Ol’ Timey King of Swing, chats with Kevin in an all-new episode. Hatfield is one half of the tag team The Throwbacks, as well as the team captain of Dasher’s Dugout in the Challenge of the Immortals. Hatfield talks about his time in the ring, his friendships and rivalries and the upcoming King of Trios tournament.

In Episode 20, Kevin talks with “Gentleman” Jervis Cottonbelly.  The Gentleman has been a staple on the Chikara Pro roster in recent years.  Cottonbelly talks about his time in the ring, his pursuit for his best friend The Estonian Thunderfrog and his latest project on social media.  It’s a great conversation with “the world’s sweetest man.”
