In late 2019, my friend Chad Smart (Positive Cynicism Podcasting Network) introduced me to a new wrestling promotion called Wrestling Pro Wrestling.

We watched a show on YouTube (watch here) over Christmas break. Then in March, we did a watch along here on the podcast. That show opened the door to ‘meeting’ one of the company’s top stars, Darwin Finch.

This week’s podcast is important to me for a couple of reasons. First, it’s the five year anniversary of My 1-2-3 Cents the podcast. It was on Dec. 9, 2014, that the ‘pilot’ episode dropped. What a decade the 80s was. Some great pro wrestling memories were formed then, including the first Survivor Series. It went down on Thanksgiving night 1987. This week my guest co-host Scott Cross and I dissect this first annual event that is still going strong today.

My first subject, Garrett Turner. He’s better known as Dexter Roswell in Stride Pro Wrestling. In 2017, Garrett came out and a recent interview by One37PM with NXT signee Jake Atlas prompted me to ask Garrett to talk about his experiences coming out. I hope you enjoy the show.

I started watching wrestling around age 9. It was late 1982 but not until mid-83 that I was all-in. Obviously, a lot has changed since then. I wanted to hear the perspective of a young fan today. So I enlisted Hunter Woodworth, 15, of Mt. Vernon. He’s also a Stride Pro Wrestling Superfan. We discuss WWE, AEW, indy wrestling and more this week.
